Are there any scholarships for the ISU? A limited number of scholarships and stipends are available. To apply, please send your résumé, two references, and a cover letter stating your motivation for attending the ISU to the Managing Coordinator (see Contact / Team) How many seminars can I attend? You can attend two two-week seminars or one four-week seminar. These seminars of your choice are covered by the course fee. How many ECTS-credits can I earn? The standard program encompasses 9 credits (ECTS-credits): 3.0 credits for the language course and 6.0 credits (= 2 x 3.0 credits) for participation in two seminars. You can attend a maximum of two seminars for credit. Is there an address where I can have mail sent during the ISU? Please, have all mail sent to the ISU-office, c/o your name. Example:

You can receive and make calls using an international phone card in the ISU-office at the university. Public phones are available in the university dormitories and downtown. Can I access the Internet during the ISU? During the ISU, you will have free access to email and internet in the computer rooms of the university. Is there an opportunity to wash my clothes during the ISU? In most accomodations washing maschines are available. There are also laundromat facilities in town. Do I have to bring sheets and towels? Sheets and a few towels are provided at the accommodation unless you receive notification otherwise. Can I use my electrical appliances? There are outlets in every room. The standard in Germany is 220 volts. You need to check if your appliances are suitable for that. You should also buy an adapter before you come to Germany.
